When you get a few abilities and can keep damage up, then spec into Polymorph tree for the Chameleon ability and Scoundrel tree for Adrenaline and Cloak and Dagger abilities. The enemy WILL know this and target your lower armored character NO MATTER THE DISTANCE OR OBSTACLES because your ranger can be taken out in fewer hits. Typically what happens when you get all Fin gear is your ranger is very balanced in armor, but super low in physical compared to your tank. Add 2 points of strength when you can, it is not super critical, but if you find your ranger getting smacked by physical damage dealers you will want to equip some STR based gear.
